FAQ
Q: Can I charge the LiFePO4 battery with an SLA (sealed lead acid) battery charger?
A:
We suggest you use the matched charger that contains a lithium charge mode for your LiFePO4 battery, and you must NOT use a lead-acid charger if it has an automatic “desulfation mode”, which cannot be permanently turned off. POWEROAD motorcycle battery charger is a good choice. 12V LiFePO4 battery charging is in a constant-current and constant-voltage way. Lithium battery is sensitive to overcharge, so the protection circuit is needed. While the ideal charging current of lead-acid battery is pulse type, with pulsating DC charging with direct rectification and no filtering of the mains 50-60Hz power supply we use (this is the practice established when the circuit is simple and the cost is low), which would cause damage to lithium battery.
